St. Andrew Seeks Grant Coordinator to Add to Staff

Due to growth and the emergence of opportunities to participate in projects with various governmental and non-governmental organizations and foundations, St. Andrew is seeking to supplement its existing grant funding activities. Position: Grant Coordinator

 Primary Responsibilities

1.        Research grants and funding opportunities in health & human services, specifically funding in areas of interest to St. Andrew Development. Currently, these areas include: tobacco use prevention and cessation, cancer education, asthma education, and education for emergency/government workers regarding infectious diseases and nuclear, biological, and chemical attacks.

 2.        Contact funding organizations and request application instructions. Analyze available requests for proposal and present viable candidates to St. Andrew Development management for apply/no apply decision.

 3.        Prepare letters of intent and grant applications, including the following steps:

·         Craft project objectives that meet grant application requirements and are in keeping with St. Andrew Development’s business development plan.

·         Facilitate collaborative arrangements with other firms, researchers, and/or non-profit organizations who can help St. Andrew Development accomplish project objectives.

·         Coordinate with other St. Andrew Development staff to develop technical approach and budget data for grant applications.

·         Draft, compile inputs, distribute for review, edit, and submit all required application documentation.

 4.        Assist St. Andrew Development customers in identifying and applying for funding to purchase kiosk systems.

5.        Provide preliminary drafts and inputs for other written materials (such as newsletters, marketing brochures, and flyers) as requested.

Secondary Responsibilities

1.        Obtain training/maintain proficiency in grant writing skills and English communication.

2.        Maintain membership in Martin Library’s Grants Resource Center, and take advantage of the Foundation Center database found there.

3.        Subscribe to and review email bulletins and newsletters, including:

·         Foundation Center’s RFP Bulletin (http://fdncenter.org/newsletters),

·         NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide), and

·         Center for Tobacco Cessation Newsletter (e-mail to ctc@cancer.org with ‘add’ in the subject field and your contact information).

4.        Cultivate relationships with non-profit 501(c)3 organizations who can become partners in applying for funding.
